NELISA DE BRUIN

Nelisa specializes in litigation and transactions concerning intellectual property (IP), information technology (IT) and privacy. Nelisa provides legal advice to start-ups on the protection and exploitation of intellectual capital and privacy related matters.

Nelisa earned her master’s degree in civil law specializing in intellectual property law from Utrecht University in 2019. While studying, Nelisa worked at Ventoux as a student employee. Nelisa joined Ventoux as a paralegal in 2020 and was admitted to the bar in 2021.

Recent relevant experience of Nelisa includes:

  • Copyright and unfair competition litigation for a multinational toy manufacturer.

  • Trademark litigation at the Benelux Court of Justice for an international company in the insecticide and mosquito repellants industry.

  • Trademark and domain name litigation for a number of companies in various industries.

  • Drafting and reviewing privacy-related documentation such as privacy statements and data processing agreements for various companies.

  • IT contracts for various companies.

She is also an editor of www.boek9.nl, a Dutch website that publishes Dutch and European IP case law and related materials.

Nelisa is a member of the Benelux Trademark and Design Rights Association (BMM).
